Day 1  Arrive To Beautiful Costa Rica! 

  An AAA Tours or hotel representative will be at the San Jose airport waiting for you to take you to your hotel. -(If you have an early flight you can travel to your first destination). Please NOTE: If you have an early incoming flight and a late departing flight, you can actually get in an additional day of Tours!

Day 2       Travel to Monteverde cloud forest area

The Cloud Forest is named for the ephemeral mists that always envelop them. Costa Rica’s cloud forests are typically found at elevations above 3,500 feet and have cool weather year round. One of the highlights in Monteverde is to try to spot the gorgeous Quetzal, or the Bell bird as well as quantities of humming birds! Be sure to visit the canopy before leaving the cloud forest. Day 3  Visit a Monteverde cloud forest reserve

Monteverde cloud forest area reserve protects over 100 species of mammals, 400 species of birds and 1,200 species of amphibians and reptiles. Here you might be able to spot a jaguar, ocelot, puma, margay, oncilla and jaguarondi in the night. The reserve has trails for hiking and walking, and you can observe humming birds feeding in an area of the reserve. Day 4     Travel to Arenal volcano region

Pital is a rural town located in San Carlos, in the province of Alajuela, Costa Rica and well known for it’s production of pineapple. It’s location is approximately 28 miles from La Fortuna town which is practically at the base of Arenal volcano. Open Afternoon: This afternoon is open to get settled and relax at the pool of Tropical Paradise bungalows or in a hammock pool side in the pavilion, or to observe a variety of birds such as these species that have been spotted in our gardens~ Bare-throated Tiger Heron, Green Ibis, Laughing Falcon, Crested Caracara,Gray-necked wood rail, whistling ducks, Ruddy Ground doves, parakeets of various kinds, a variety of Tanagers, and sometimes Great green macaws fly overhead, Keel billed toucans, Chestnut billed toucans, Collared Aracaris, Nightjars or Night hawks, Amazon kingfisher, Black-cheeked woodpecker, Pale-billed woodpecker, Lineated woodpecker, Squirrel cuckoo, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Blue-black Grosbeak, Saltators, several types of Orioles, Shining honeycreepers, Red-legged honeycreepers, humming birds and more!  This hotel or similar, depending on availability: http://www.aaatourcostarica.com/tropical-paradise-bungalows/ 

Day 5   Visit Caño Negro area on a Safari Boat Trip

Caño Negro Safari Boat Trip: Enjoy a two hour Safari Boat trip down one of Costa Rica`s beautiful rivers inside a wildlife reserve called Caño Negro. Caño Negro is a remote tropical everglade in which we will see many water birds, caimans, iguanas, tree sloths, and howler monkeys along the shore. http://www.aaatourcostarica.com/tropical-paradise-bungalows/

Day 6  Visit 1968 Trails by Arenal Volcano

1968 Forest Trails: Arenal Volcano erupted on Monday, July 29, 1968 at 7:30 am after being considered by many to be extinct. The eruptions, which lasted for several days, spewed rocks, lava and ash for over 9 square miles. The 1968 eruption made trails of lava over which you can walk, and is a good area for spotting different types of birds, and possibly wildlife. Day 7 Open morning & start heading towards airport
