Day 1 Arrive To Beautiful Costa Rica!
An AAA Tours or hotel representative will be at the San Jose airport waiting for you to take you to your hotel. -(If you have an early flight you can travel to your first destination). Please NOTE: If you have an early incoming flight and a late departing flight, you can actually get in an additional day of Tours!

Day 2 Travel to Monteverde cloud forest area
Monteverde Cloud Forest is named for the ephemeral mists that always envelop them. Costa Rica’s cloud forests are typically found at elevations above 3,500 feet. One of the highlights in Monteverde is to spot the gorgeous Quetzal, one of the most beautiful birds of the world! Be sure to visit the canopy before leaving the cloud forest. (Ask for details.)

Day 3 Visit a Monteverde cloud forest reserve
Monteverde cloud forest area reserve protects over 100 species of mammals, 400 species of birds and 1,200 species of amphibians and reptiles. Here you might be able to spot a jaguar, ocelot, puma, margay, oncilla and jaguarondi. The reserve has trails for hiking and walking, and a guide will help you spot birds and wildlife and teach you about the cloud forest.

Day 4 Travel to La Fortuna
La Fortuna is a rural city located in San Carlos, in the province of Alajuela, Costa Rica. It’s location is approximately 6 miles from Arenal Volcano, which has been regularly spewing smoke, ash and occasionally spitting out rocks. La Fortuna is a gateway to a magnificent waterfall that towers over 225′!
Open Afternoon: This afternoon is open … you get to choose what you want to do!

Day 5 Visit Caño Negro area on a Safari Boat Trip
Caño Negro Safari Boat Trip: Enjoy a two hour Safari Boat trip down one of Costa Rica`s beautiful rivers inside a wildlife reserve called Caño Negro. Caño Negro is a remote tropical everglade in which we will see many water birds, caimans, iguanas, tree sloths, and howler monkeys along the shore.

Day 6 Visit 1968 Trails by Arenal Volcano
1968 Forest Trails: Arenal Volcano erupted on Monday, July 29, 1968 at 7:30 am after being considered by many to be extinct. The eruptions, which lasted for several days, spewed rocks, lava and ash for over 9 square miles. The 1968 eruption made trails of lava over which you can walk, and is a good area for spotting different types of birds, and possibly wildlife. It is recommended for hikers in good physical condition, and will take approx. three hours or more to complete all trails.

Day 7 Open morning & start heading towards airport
You will spend your last night in beautiful Costa Rica at a hotel near the airport, where you can relax and prepare for your trip home.

Day 8 Fly back home after a awesome time in Costa Rica!
